James (Jim) Emmet Krause of Waukon, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at the age of 73 after a short illness. Jim was born on October 26, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, to Alex and Sophie (Kraus) Krause. At that time he met and married Patricia Kluegel on April 4, 1964.  They were together for 49 years. The couple lived in the Chicago area, raising their two children while Jim worked in manufacturing. It was his work with plastics that caused their move to Waukon in1998 when Jim was hired as a plant manager for Iowa Rotocast Plastics, Inc. in Decorah, Iowa.  Jim had a passion for hunting, and fishing, plus enjoyed being an outdoorsman on his French Creek property. He was a licensed charter boat Captain, and spent many hours on Lake Michigan catching the elusive brown trout and many trophy fish. Jim is survived by his wife Pat, daughter Jamie (Bruce) Dahlquist, son James Jr., sister Sandra (Brian) Donlea, and granddaughter Heidi Dahlquist. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Sophie Kemblowski.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
